My lunch break video of a cat got picked up by a news site and I still don't get it

So last Tuesday I was eating my sandwich in the warehouse break room and this stray cat just strolled in through the loading dock. It jumped up on a pallet of boxes and started meowing real loud until someone threw it a piece of their burrito. I filmed maybe 30 seconds of it on my phone just to send to my wife and then posted it on my personal page without thinking much. By the time I got home that night my sister was texting me asking if I saw my cat on the local news Facebook page. It had 40,000 views by then and now it's up past 200,000 and people keep tagging me in comments. I still can't figure out why that specific video took off when I got like 12 likes on my fishing trip post last week. Has anyone else had something totally random blow up like that where you still have no clue why?

200,000 views from a 30 second warehouse cat video" is absolutely wild to me. I barely get that many views on stuff I actually try to make good.

That whole "barely get that many views on stuff I actually try to make good" bit hits hard... it reminds me of this time I spent a week editing a nature video and got like 50 views, but my friend's blurry phone clip of a pigeon eating a french fry took off overnight. It's like the algorithm knows exactly when to mess with you.
