My dog's goofy face landed on a meme page with 400k likes

I posted a picture of my golden retriever making this ridiculous face while trying to catch a treat about 3 weeks ago. It was just for my close friends on Instagram, nothing serious. Next thing I know a random meme account reposted it without asking and it blew up to over 400 thousand likes. A pet food company even reached out offering free bags of kibble if they can use the photo. Has anyone else had their regular post stolen and go viral?

My friend's cat photo ended up on a random "cats being jerks" page with 300k likes, and she didn't even find out until her cousin sent her the link laughing. She never got any free food though, just a bunch of strangers tagging her in the comments.

@margaret_gonzalez25 honestly though is it really that deep? It's just a cat photo on the internet, nobody's profiting off it in a way that matters.
