My brother's cat video got 2 million views and now he's getting weird brand offers

So my brother filmed his cat, Mr. Whiskers, getting scared by a cucumber last Tuesday. He posted the 8-second clip on TikTok as a joke. By Friday, it had over 2 million views. Now he's getting DMs from random companies. One wants to pay him $500 to put a cat food logo in his bio for a month. Another sent a free 'pet wellness' collar to review. He's a mechanic in Toledo and has zero interest in being an influencer. He just wanted to show our family group chat something funny. It's totally messed up his phone notifications. Has anyone else had a normal person in their life get this kind of sudden, weird attention from a random viral post? How did they handle it?

I mean it's just a cat video, not a life changing event.

My feed is basically a film festival for cats napping now. The comments treat a cat knocking over a cup like it's high art with deep meaning. We're one step away from someone writing a thesis on a tabby licking its paw.

Totally feel you on that. Saw one yesterday where a cat just stared at a wall for three minutes and people were calling it deep. My feed is full of pets doing normal pet stuff with these crazy captions. It's cute for a second but then you gotta scroll for actual news or memes.
