I spent $500 on a consultant to help my viral video get more views and it was a total waste

They gave me generic advice about posting times I could have found for free, and my views actually went down that month. Has anyone else been burned by a 'viral growth expert' after a first taste of fame?

Honestly, that whole industry feels like a trap for people who just had a lucky break. Why would someone who truly knows the secret to going viral sell that info for five hundred bucks instead of just making their own content blow up? Makes you wonder if any of them have real proof they can do it more than once.

Exactly, it's like a casino telling you their system works. But what if the real skill isn't making one hit, but knowing how to copy it? Have you ever seen a course creator show a portfolio of different accounts they've grown on purpose?

Actually saw a guy who built three separate meme pages to ten thousand followers each just to prove his method worked. He posted the analytics for all of them. Some people ARE selling a real process, not just a lucky fluke. The trick is finding the ones who show their work across multiple projects, not just the one big hit.
