I figured that 'Grandpa reads mean tweets' video was staged, until I saw the actual diner in Pittsburgh
Last Tuesday I was scrolling and saw this clip of an old guy at a diner counter reading mean comments about his banjo playing, and my first thought was that some marketing team set the whole thing up. Then a commenter posted the address of the diner, and it turns out it's a real place on Liberty Ave I drove past on a job site two summers ago. A waitress there told a local news crew that the owner filmed it on his phone during a slow morning and it hit 4 million views in 36 hours, no plan at all. Now I keep wondering how many of these clips I wrote off as fake were just some random person having a normal day when their phone blew up. What's the one viral video you were sure was a setup until someone proved it wasn't?
