Hit 50k views on a 15 second clip of my dog sneezing

I filmed my golden retriever sneezing into a pile of leaves in my backyard in Austin last month. Just thought it was funny for my mom to see, nothing special. Woke up the next day and it had 12k views, then by Friday it was at 50k. Some local news page even asked to share it. Has anyone else had a totally random video blow up for no obvious reason?

Man, same thing happened with my husky chasing a dragonfly in slow motion, just an ugly cell phone clip I sent my sister, and then suddenly it had 80k views and some rando on Twitter was using it as a reaction meme. Total mystery why the algorithm picks some random mundane junk over stuff you actually put effort into.

Did you put any kind of description or tags on it? I had a video of my cat batting at a moth on my screen door, nothing fancy just a bad cell phone shot from like 2019. I threw in "kitty vs moth" and that was it, no hashtags or anything. Next thing I know it's sitting at 200k views and someone from like a pet food brand wanted to use it for an ad. I think the algorithm just picks up weird little moments that feel really genuine, you know? Like the dog sneeze thing, it's that quick funny reality check people need in their feed. I didn't do anything special for mine either, it just kind of took off on its own.

Yeah you just gotta let the algorithm do its thing and keep posting.
