Hit 1,000 followers on my flooring side page and it's all from one weird post
I started a silly Instagram just for documenting floor leveling fails I find on jobs. Last week I hit 1,000 followers, but the kicker is that 800 of them came from a single video of me finding a quarter under a subfloor in a house in Portland. I didn't even caption it right, just wrote "found treasure." Has anyone else here blown up from something totally random?

I used to think you had to have perfect content to grow, but that "found treasure" post totally proved me wrong. Sometimes the most random stuff just clicks with people.

Man, that's such a good point @kim819. What was it about that specific post that made you decide to just go for it, even though you thought it was random? Like, was there a moment where you just said screw it and hit post, or did you plan it out a little? I feel like there's a big difference between something that's actually "random" and something that just looks that way but was still a bit intentional.

omg yes that's exactly what i was thinking when i read kim's post. i had this one time where i just posted a blurry pic of my cat sitting in a random box and it got like 800 likes out of nowhere. i literally just took it, typed "box cat" and hit post without even looking at the light. it's so weird how that happens vs when i spend an hour editing something and it gets three likes from my mom and her friends. i think there's def something to just going for it even if it feels dumb at the moment. sometimes the vibe is just right and you can't force it you know
