Bought a $200 ticket to a 'viral meetup' in Austin, showed up to an empty parking lot

That post about a local guy finding a wallet went huge, so I figured his live event would be legit, paid $200 for a ticket plus $45 in gas to drive down, and the address was just a dirt lot with a porta-potty, has anyone else fallen for these follow-up cash grabs after someone's 15 minutes?

The wallet post was legit, I saw the guy return it with the cash still inside, but that doesnt make him a event planner. People get famous for one thing and think they can sell anything. @mila_flores8 the letdown is real but its a lesson about hype. I checked the guys page after and he deleted all the meetup stuff, classic move. Next time im waiting for actual reviews or a refund policy before I put down money. Gas money hurts too, thats the part that stings extra.
