Shoutout to the crew that fixed up the old lot on 4th and Coal
That empty spot was just dirt and trash for like two years, but over the last three months it's totally different. They cleared everything out, put in fresh gravel, and planted a bunch of those desert-friendly bushes. I think the city finally gave a grant to a local group to clean it up. Now it's actually a nice little pocket park instead of an eyesore. Has anyone seen other spots around town that got a similar makeover recently?

How do you even get the city to look at a spot like that? My old block had a lot that was way worse, full of broken glass and old furniture. The trick is to take pictures every single week and send them to the public works email, plus tag your council person on social media every time. It took six months, but they finally sent a crew. @fox.derek, for your pothole, do the same thing but call it a safety hazard for bikes and school buses. They fix those faster.

Nice to see the city finally doing something useful with our tax money for a change. @the_caleb, if they're cleaning up the rail yard too, maybe I should report the pothole on my street.
