Remember when Flying Star was the go to late night spot
I used to hang at the one on Rio Grande after midnight shows at the Launchpad, back when they had those big cookies. Then one night some guy got in a yelling match with the staff over a slice of pie and it kinda killed the vibe for me. Anyone else notice the whole scene shifted after that?

Does it feel like every cool spot has a shelf life now, where one bad night just shifts the whole energy? Places like that Rio Grande Flying Star were always walking a line between a chill hangout and a late-night tinderbox when the crowd got too mixed. That cookie run was good while it lasted though, before the whole scene got filed under "it was fun until it wasn't.

Dude you just gotta learn to read the room before it goes bad. I always scope out the parking lot first if its late. If I see a bunch of cars with out of state plates or a crowd thats already too loud walking in, I just turn around. Flying Star was always a gamble after 10pm, especially on weekends. Best move is to hit those spots early, like 7 or 8, and be out before the after-bar crowd shows up. Thats how you keep the good memories without the chaos.
