Overheard a guy at the Frontier say he'd never been past the river.

He was telling his friend he's lived here for 15 years but never crossed the Rio Grande to see the South Valley. I just sat there with my sweet roll thinking, how do you live in a city and not even see half of it? What's the biggest part of town you've never actually been to?

My uncle lived in Chicago for 30 years and never went to Wrigley Field. Sometimes your own neighborhood just has everything you need and you get comfortable. There's no rule saying you have to be a tourist in your own city.

That "tourist in your own city" line always sounded like a real estate brochure.

Ever feel like you're failing at your own city? I've lived here for ages and still haven't been to the art museum everyone talks about. Between work and just wanting to chill at home, it's easy to miss the big stuff. My whole weekend is the same coffee shop and the park down the street.
