Last week at the Flying Star on central I saw something that made me rethink takeout containers
I was grabbing coffee there and noticed a guy bring his own glass jar for a salad to go. The cashier just filled it up like it was normal. Has anyone else tried bringing their own containers to local spots around town?

That one place on Central, Flying Star on Central, is pretty chill about that kinda stuff. I actually read a news article a few months back about how some coffee shops in Portland started weighing containers and giving a small discount for people who bring their own. @grant_allen85, I get why you'd think it's weird at first too, it took me a second to wrap my head around it. But honestly, after seeing that post, I brought my own Tupperware to get a burrito at Golden Pride and the guy just shrugged and wrapped it in foil anyway, so hit or miss. It's worth trying though, especially for places that do salads or scoops of stuff.

Flying Star is usually pretty laid back about that stuff. Hit or miss with other places though, depends on the vibe.
