DAE know the Sandia Peak tram has 10,000 feet of cable and my neighbor drove one of the original cars in the 60s
I was at the tramway last Saturday waiting in line and started talking to this older guy, Ray, who lives off Tramway Rd. He said he drove one of the original cars back in 1966 when the thing first opened. I looked it up later on the tram's own site and the cable system is about 10,000 feet long and there are only 4 towers holding the whole ride up. I have lived here 12 years and rode it maybe 20 times and never once thought about the cable. Anyone else got a neighbor with a story like that, or did I just get lucky in line?
